The Anti-Federalists also were opposed to allowing the federal government to claim for itself authority not granted to it within the bounds of the Constitution.

The anti-Federalists were opposed to the existence of the Constitution itself. Hence their name.

Washington and Jefferson grew hemp on their property.

People made their own rope in those days - you understand that hemp was not cultivated as a recreational drug at that time, right?

I deduce you would support police raiding Monticello and Mount Vernon, were they alive and doing so today.

While we're engaging in strange hypotheticals, I expect the police would be more concerned about the hundreds of human beings being held in bondage on the property.

Yet they grew the same plant on their property that was found growing on this man’s property. We know *they* grew it; they even wrote about the plant; this man has been *accused* of growing it.

The growing of a plant is not analogous to slavery. The point is that the mere presence of the plant would have justified their arrest in the eyes of some Freepers here.

How do you suppose George Washington or Thomas Jefferson would have reacted were they arrested for the possession of hemp or “resisting arrest”?
