I can only speak for the Tea Partiers I know around here (who were for Brunner). The ad was a pitch for Aiken stating he was too conservative for Mo. A brilliant ad designed to put him over the top. Whoever wins the areas surrounding St. Louis & K. C. (Democratic strong holds) win the election. Brunner & Steelman had a better chance to pick up some votes in those areas. With her ad the ground work has already been laid for the Dems to have an easier time getting votes in those areas. His conservative credentials make him the easiest candidate for them to pick off. They won’t need as many dead voters......
At least that’s how some of us see it.
I'm in MA, where should an actual conservative have the temerity to announce as a Republican, the MA GOP will quickly recruit a liberal to primary him and throw its support to the liberal. MA has a lot of conservatives, just never a conservative candidate to vote for!
Actually now, that’s just too confusing!
The meme around here is to vote for the MOST conservative Republican in the primary, and then vote Republican in the general election. So, if Aikin is the MOST conservative, isn’t this what we FReepers, as the Internet’s premier conservative forum, want?
Voting for a RINO because they can get more moderate votes is what we’ve been fighting!
I think we do well to stand by the more—not less—conservative running.
