How is it imperialism for Germany to tell the Euro banks that they are not going to finance the bloated socialist policies of the rest of Europe anymore
That is precisely what they've been telling Europe to do for decades, especially when it comes to their own socialism. And they haven't been financing anything; they've been giving out loans. Read the treaties and what they entail.

And what would an Imperialist nation want with a bunch of countries with populations that would rather riot for free stuff from the government than work?
Their strategic value. If they control them, then they become a big world power. The price for all the loans is their sovereignty.

The loans are financing the socialist policies of Italy.

It’s not a loan if you don’t get paid back.

Italy hasn’t been paying the loans back they have just been going back for more.

The price for all the loans is their sovereignty.

Sounds like a lesson the US should take heed of doesn’t it.
