The speakers that are still in use in our living room today are forty year old Optimus-5's from Radio Shack, back in the day when they had heavy nice looking wooden cabinets.
I had hung on to the receipt for many years, which was good, cause in my younger days I really cranked it up, and the lifetime warranty helped out with woofer replacements!
The receipt is long gone, but that's OK, since I just listen at low volume to Lawrence Welk and Mantovani (do I really need the sarcasm tag?). LOL

Our speakers are about 16-17 years old too. We’ve had to replace our sub-woofer, but other than that, our surround sound system is original. They’re all B&Ws.

Damn. My love and prayers to you and MrOL. You must be hearbroken. It's not fair that our best friends are taken so soon.
Makes You wonder if that's where the saying "only the good die young" came from. Then again, you wouldn't want to outlive them; they're too much a part of you.

They sound like awesome speakers. There’s nothing better than good sound reproduction whether it an LP or a TV.

Warmer is the word for analog audio. Deeper, too, especially the bass; it’s purer.
Feeling better today than I thought I would. Throat is a little sore and pooped, having lost a lot of sleep over it.
Well that and a voice that doesn’t work except for occasional uncontrolled volume static.

Never should have thrown mine away. They cost me a fortune back then and they would be worth at least as much today. Ah well, live and learn.

We both really, really miss him. Anybody that you know and see every day for 15 years will break your heart when they pass. I don’t care if it’s a person or a pet, when they die, it hurts.
We will be all right. It gets a little better each day. When I stop crying when I look at his picture, that will be a milestone, and eventually, it will make me smile. That may be a long way off, but the day will come by the Grace of God.
Thank you for the hug to pieces. Hugs to you, too {{{{{Lady Jag}}}}}
