Assad was an evil man and a threat to the West. Unfortunately, I have difficulty imagining that his replacement will be better for America, better for Israel, or even better for the remaining Christians in Syria. I hope the Russians will be able to install one of their own to replace Assad. Sadly, I trust their pick a whole lot more than I trust the choices that our White House would favor.
Trust Putin more than Obama?
Who wouldn't?
The Muslim Brotherhood, home of Osoma Bin Laden, is already there. They've taken over the most of the middle east already - and they're being funded with our tax dollars and supported by our military.
The 10, standing with pomp and glitter, head for their vaults.
The people, angry and in disarray, loot the shops.
Which of these knew in advance? The eagle? The bear? The crown? The sun?
No, fate was not a consideration for this race.
Think Assad was bad? Just wait until the Islamo-Nazi Muslim Brotherhood takes power. When they have taken over all of the countries near Israel they’ll attack.
Good point: Russia may have gotten involved just because they knew he’d be out one way or another and the USA wouldn’t be installing anyone first-world friendly.
Unless as you hope the Russians manage to install a replacement (meaning another Ba’athist, and a continuation of the fighting between the Syrian government and the Syrian Islamists) his replacement will certainly be worse for the remaining Christians in Syria (about 11% of the population), and most likely worse for Israel (the Ba’athists honored the Golan Heights agreement for decades, much longer than the ten year hudna that is the Islamists maximum duration for a peace with non-Muslims) and America.
