Landing at 10:30PM Pacific...yes, this is early so all the aviation, space, astronomy and science pingers can "get 'er done".
T minus 2 hours and 55 minutes to landing.
“Ok, after watching the video on Space.com, Im not too confident this is going to work out.
It is like trying to land a bullet in space on a banana running at full speed without bruising the skin.”

Not to worry—they had some VERY COMPETENT conservative/Republican engineers and IT programmer/developers involved in the nitty-gritty details. So it has a reasonable chance of succeeding.
And, if it does succeed, big time props will be due for all involved. I guess NASA doesn’t yet have ALL of its staff and contractors dedicated to promoting belief in the global warming cult and increasing Muslim self-esteem.
Chicken sandwiches are a staple of the martian diet. Sorry, my joke was fowl.
The Martians are Japanese?
Something I always suspected but could never prove.
I hear Martian sushi is high in iron ;^)
Getting closer. Hoping for a safe landing on Mars.
Fox News will be coming on at around 1:30am EST to cover it live. Hopefully your “crappy cable service” will serve you well. Good luck.
Could end up being a great week!
Cruz wins Texas On Tuesday
Chick-Fil-A Breaks Sales Records On Wednesday
Rover lands safely on Mars.

And hopefully (if you’ll allow me an 8-day week) Sarah Steelman will win in Missouri on Tuesday (8/7/12).
‘Might try to stay up till 11 out here, hoping they might confirm.
Thanks for the thread, h.
Hehehehe... I actually liked John Carter. Of course, I never read the books so I had nothing to go on. :-)
Thanks for the link. How cool is this???
Cruise stage separation in two hours.
I have Fox but no Fox News.
All I have for 24/7 news is CNN
(Alaska Bush...22 channels)
I “cut the beam” 18 months ago, so I’ll be watching the live feed from NASA.
I’m still heartsick the Obamination cancelled the Constellation program, but I desperately hope Curiosity lands in one piece. It’s just amazing and the engineers looked like kids in the candy store.
Now if we can all survive those 14 minutes of hurry up and wait! :)
My pleasure.

If this thing bounces off Mars atmosphere and gets slingshot out into the void, then in about 200 years expect someone to detect an omnipotent signal coming from some space cloud alled Curio City.

No problem.
