It's a dangerously sick world we live in. We call ourselves ‘civilized’ because we have cell phones, and televisions, etc. etc., but the veneer of civilization is incredibly thin. Secularism is nothing more than embracing and celebrating this thin veneer, while discounting that which could elevate us beyond our organic and flawed selves. It is the quest for spirituality that truly defines ‘civilization’, but that has been labeled by the secularists as trite and anti-intellectual. We are truly in a bad way.

You nailed it. I would add that the quest for self gratification has become the ultimate pursuit for many in this age of selfishness. These people are so committed to themselves that they lack empathy for others to include children. Furthermore, just like an addiction to hard narcotics it continually takes more extreme doses (or material) to stimulate them.

There are some very sick souls out there and despite overwhelming evidence that pedophiles are incurable we continue to release them to harm children. In my opinion, a society that does not place the rights of innocent and defenseless children above the “rights” of perverts does not deserve to exist or thrive. You can’t help but think that God feels the same. I believe abortion by it’s very nature uses the same logic leading adults to place themselves above babies.

We live in dark times and too many Americans have acquiesced to the spread of darkness.

Great commentary. Imagine a technologically more advanced society than America that used cannabalism to control it’s population. That wouldn’t be civilization in anyone’s eyes.
