Whether it is still true or not I do not know but it used to be that insurance policies didn’t pay off for suicide.

Most insurance companies have a time limit on the suicide thing. If you buy the insurance and then don't commit suicide over a specified length of time then you are free and clear on the suicide thing. Example: Most policies have a one or two year limit on suicide, if you commit suicide after that, they pay off anyway.
