I see your point, well taken.
But I also see Pat Buchanan’s point made on Townhall. Guess I believe the fiscal, social and foreign policy issues are all intertwined:

Support and defence of freedom of speech and freedom of religious beliefs is now a “religious jihad”? I missed that, when did that definition come about?

I agree (make you feel better). Our side already understands there’s a culture war going one - hence the turnout on Wednesday - and we’re ready to vote on it. Their side needs something, anything, to get their people out. Getting Romney labeled as a hate-filled person who just wants to put gays back in jail is what they need...and he won’t take the bait.
The other thing is that we should be thankful he’s not as bad as McCain, who would have come out AGAINST Chick-A-Fill, had he been running instead.
