As I've said here before this isn't about gay marriage, or gay rights, or our side trying to deny their side their "rights."
The Chik-fil-A bruhaha is about one's right to believe what one wants, and to say what one believes. No matter how badly the media and the liberals and the organized gay establishment want to twist it into a gay issue, it's not!
When the root issue is viewed correctly and factually, in the light of what Mr. Cathy said in the interview, we're actually standing up for their right, along with ours, to believe as we believe and to say what we believe.
But as the discussion is going (even here on FR), our free speech and belief cause is being shanghaied and twisted and perverted into a direct attack on gays -- a fight to the finish over gay marriage, winner take all. We shouldn't let the other side redefine our basic point for us.
If we fight this on their terms, we're giving them the high ground in the eyes of half the country. They have a right to speak their mind, as we do. They have a right to their beliefs, as we do. They're trying hard to deny us those rights; that's where the fight is. Let's stick with the Constitution and keep the high ground.
We're right. Let's keep it that way.
Various government officials, all of them liberal 'rats, wanted to abuse their positions of elective office "authority" to shut down or otherwise punish what they don't agree with.
That's part of the meme we need to consistently fire back with. Never fight an opponent on grounds of their own choosing, unless they can be brought to regret that choice. This issue, with the form it has taken, fits that qualification. Don't let it be about "gay" anything, until first it is driven home, firmly nailed down that it is primarily about freedom of speech, freedom of expression.
Re-establish freedom of speech, at the top as sacrosanct, then we regain lost ground so as to be able to more freely oppose that which we find heinous.
Free exercise of traditional religion is protected by the 1st Amendment also. This is a teachable moment, where we get to do the teaching.
When it comes to the likes of Rahm Emanual, give it to 'em good and hard. Take no prisoners. Do to them as they have long done to conservatives and traditionalists. Just make sure we make our shots, nothing but headshots. Go for the leadership. Don't get down in the gutter with the faggots and try to debate with them. Instead, put the 'Rat's down in the gutter with the fags who want to prohibit others God-given rights merely guaranteed by the Constitution.
