This will be the second time since 1998 that (in TN) the Dem nominee was more Conservative than the GOP incumbent candidate. The prior time was John Jay Hooker against the odious RINO Scumquist for Governor. I voted for Hooker. The Dems disavowed Hooker in that race, too. What is astonishing is that if these idiots got behind their rare Conservative nominees, they’d start winning races again. People in TN want “Conservative” and “More Conservative”, not “RINO squish” and “Ultra-left moonbat” (if Park Overall won the nod). This is why the Dems could end up with just 17 out of 99 House seats in November (if Stacey Campfield’s prediction comes true). That’s an even lower % of seats that the GOP holds in the MA House, which is astonishing.

Good point. Once in a blue moon, there are cases where the ‘Rat candidate is the better choice. The 2000 race between Lincoln Chafee and a pro-life DemocRAT is one such example, and Lindsey Graham’s 2008 reelection over a Libertarian DemocRAT is another. Lowell Weicker vs. Joe Lieberman in 1988 is arguably another still. Perhaps this is also such a case, given that Lamar Alexander is such a mediocre Senator.
