Fascinating. Some people appear to be unable to discuss issues without descending to juvenile insults.

FWIW, I am strongly opposed to homosexuality and gay marriage.

However, this doesn’t mean I ignore the fact that public opinion on the issue is changing rapidly. Sometimes, believe it or not, the American public is wrong.

As far as state votes go, it appears that till now those opposed are more likely to show up to vote than those in favor. This will probably change shortly, perhaps as soon as this fall. Once referendums start passing, look for them to do so at an increasing rate.

BTW, if you are going to claim a particular poll is biased, your claim should be based on something more than your dislike of the results. I never claimed the poll was accurate, I merely reported it.

By citing biased polls?

Revealing to say the least, did you get that from DU?

I never claimed the poll was accurate, I merely reported it.

Liar, you stated it as fact:

"No longer true. According to a recent Pew poll, 48% of Americans, a majority for the first time, support gay marriage, with 44% opposed. That's a 9% increase in support in 4 years "

I understand you are reporting poll results, biased though the poll might be.

It may have been changing, but despite the 'cuteness' of the 25% homo 'couples' on HGTV looking for houses, and the obligatory sitcom 'gays', the stock slide at JC Penny since mom and pop America got slapped in the face with two mommy/two daddy ads can't be ignored, and now that the owner of a Chicken sandwich chain is being attacked for, well, expressing the same values most Americans harbor, the battle lines are drawn.

It isn't about being trendily nice to people of a different persuasion any more, it's about keeping your kid out of the showers with predators, and the cute and shiny facade of the 'lifestyle' is beginning to fall away and expose the virulent projections of self-hatred festering beneath the public persona of their movement.

People are beginning to realize that 'victim' groups are not just asking for parity, but for the destruction of those not like them--those they see as their 'victimizers'--and that means that people are beginning to see the threat beneath.

The ugliness being expressed toward fine, hardworking folks (some of whom might even be homosexuals working at a franchise) is exposing the hate behind the 'victimhood', a hatred harbored for the majority of normal and productive members of American society.

Don't expect all this to win any polling points for the homos. You lose the ability to feel sorry for people who are attacking you, and the attack and the virulence behind it are becoming increasingly evident, breaching the boundaries of 'tolerance' by demanding 'approval', and responding with vitriol when that approval isn't forthcoming.

Well, if you want to “follow the money” check out the PEW charitable trust (pewtrust.org) grants and see were there bias’ are. It seems a little strange that an organization with financial commitments to folks like planned parenthood, policy initiatives to create mandatory Global Warming regulations, promote regulation of fisheries, etc., would be recognized in any way as legit polling outfit.

And yet as it’s highlighted in the lame stream media- we read and repeat (post) their stuff, giving them at least enough credibility in our minds to demoralize us a little.

Bad folks with an agenda.
