Wisconsin -(Ammoland.com)-Wisconsin Carry has learned of some concerning information that we would like to pass along to our membership and right-to-carry interested folks in southeast Wisconsin.
In a recently published Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article which you can read here
It was reported that the former Badger Guns (now Brew City Shooters Supply) http://www.brewcityshooterssupply.com/ has, since 2009, been reporting the names of every customer that comes in to use their firing range to the West Milwaukee Police Department.
In this time over 25,000 customer names were reported to West Milwaukee Police Chief Dennis Nasci who ran a background check on each through his system.
So far in 2012 it was reported more than 8,800 customer name records have been supplied to West Milwaukee Police by Brew City Shooters Supply to have a criminal background check run on them.
We do not know yet, how else West Milwaukee Police have been using these records they have been given by Brew City Shooters Supply, nor if they are storing those customer names for future reference. We also do not know what other purposes West Milwaukee Police might choose to use these customer name lists for in the future.

This must be pretty new, nothing about it on Google. Stuff like this goes viral pretty quickly.
Lots of gun enthusiasts’ blogs, sites etc have picked up on it. Their FB page has some comments; I imagine those will disappear.
I want to know what “system” the West Milwaukee chief put my name into. And, with what justification. I am not sure how to approach it because of the possible repercussions. I know WI Carry has or will be filing a FOIA request. I will be following that.
Protest in front of the place.
Apparently, they have taken their FB page down or deactivated it. Guess they did not want to comment.
The Shooting for Soldiers event with Harley Davidson has been cancelled. I would say word is definitely getting out there.
Just FYI,
They took down their FB page for a couple of days and deleted most comments referencing this. But, they posted this now:
Hello again, Mike here, owner of Brew City Shooter’s Supply Inc. Congratulations to members of a certain political organization, which I will leave nameless, on exercising a successful smear campaign. These selfish rabble rousers went to such lengths to tarnish me, that through hate mail and intimidation they were able to get the House of Harley to back out of my charitable event for the Wounded W
arrior Project. This was not an event to benefit Brew City Shooters or House of Harley; it was for our wounded veterans. This is not only a shame, but an insult to our veteran community. As I and half my staff are combat veterans, we are personally offended by their actions. I may only have 15 months experience in Iraq, but I will always be a combat engineer and proud veteran.
Despite this turn of events, we would still like to invite all who would have attended to come out anyway and support our wounded veterans. As before, we will donate half of all range proceeds for the weekend to the Wounded Warrior Project. It is my hope that the real shooting community will come together and support this worthy cause.
Being involved in the Wounded Warrior Project doesn't make them immune to criticism, doesn't excuse what they did, and honestly it's shameful that he invoked the name of the charity to play the "Woe is me" card.
That's like me getting arrested for murder and posting, "Well I hope you all are happy, I was going to donate $1mil to charity but now that I'm going to prison I won't be able to. You guys are only hurting the children".
Boo hoo.
I manage to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project without going through Brew Nazi Shooter's Supply. So can everyone else.
Yup.
They were removing posts and blocking people left, right and sideways all week.
I realize this has all died down. It is a shame that it will blow over and their business will likely flourish with unknowing customers.
I am still concerned about what the WMPD did with my information.
