Begin should have never given the Sinai to Egypt in the first place. And yes, not only it, but all the "territories" acquired in '67 should have been annexed immediately. At that time certain parts of the Left (American liberals and social democrats worldwide) supported Israel and in fact Ben Gurion's Mapa"y was the ruling party. It could have been done without stirring up the united Left (which today, even in Israel, doubts the country's right to exist) and we would have been spared 45 years of chaos and murder.
