It is also possible that Lot may have been trying to quench their roaring lust with some diversion as an offering of his daughters, - while knowingly in his Heart they would never have that opportunity. Only Lot and God know for sure. As it plays out they immediately rebuked Lot and tried to break down the door of his house. People engulfed in sin and given over completely to a raging lust will not stop until their lust is feed. As it turns out they never did get Lot’s daughters.
