My Rocket has taken a hard turn for the worse, and we are taking him to the vet tomorrow to see if his
kidneys have failed beyond hope or if he has a secondary infection or problem from which he can recover.

I know, I know. Wishful thinking never got anybody anywhere, but my heart is breaking here. I'm grasping at straws.

He was a beautiful Maine Coon sweetie all his life.
In his heyday he was 18 pounds of loving gentle giant:
