I think this is an over reaction on your part and I would be careful to not fall into the cult of personality thing for Palin. I like her too but she has said some things that whe was wrong about as well. Like stating that Condi Rice would make a good VP pick. Totally and utterly wrong.
I'm glad his daughter quickly set him right, but the damage was already done by that point.
Mmmm ... I don't think so...
Dick Cheney is a RINO Turd in the vein of Poppy Bush, Geranl Ford and George Rommney.
Huh, I thought we won the war of 1812.
No.
I hadn’t thought about Cheney being a Rockefeller man, but he was; did he urge Rockefeller to step down in favor of Dole, another “winner”?
Cheney = Gravitas
He was the foundation of his ticket, because Bush was easily flustered on the podium. Plus Cheney had significant international exposure.
But McCain was no Bush. He was too old, too GREEN, too RINO. That ticket needed Palin more than anything. She’s a political rock star. The gay dominated media know it and are afraid.
Until this past month, independents did not understand that there is such a thing as a gay mafia controlling much of news and entertainment. And now, big city mayors.
Dick Cheney expressed his opinion that Palin, as VP, was not ready to take over the US presidency in 2008. He represented the OLD SCHOOL inside DC GOP think.
Personally I think Cheney made a mistake, but that does not qualify as 'attack Palin'.
McCain’s campaign did a great job picking Palin..the problem is they did a poor job defending her and in some cases did some negative piling on themselves. In that sense she was not the best pick for VP for that particular campaign.
Note that his own daughter also put him in his place, as did Palin, both effectively, without trashing him.
Stupidity, thanks, Dick.
Sorry, I mean thanks dick.
Its was the lamestream media that defined Dick Cheney as a “conservative.”
I stopped letting the media tell me who a “conservative” was back in the 70s.
Back then I listened to the fiery radio preachers-commentators who spoke out against the Council on Foreign Relations, Bilderberg Conferences etc.
Lots of Republicans like Rockefeller and Kissinger were part of those groups and their strategy back then was to bring “order” to the world back then involving “detente” with the Soviet Union.
Thank God Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and Ronald Reagan were around to speak out against the Ford-Rockefeller-Kissinger strategy.
Dick Cheney worked for Gerald Ford, a liberal Republican president who had Nelson Rockefeller as VP and Kissinger as Secretary of State.
Dick Cheney never was a conservative. The “order” that he and the Condi Rice’s want today aparently involves a 21st Century “detente” with Islam.
Think about that????????
Didn’t we used to like him?
Cheney has just been inside the Beltway too long. The attitude is typical. No yahoo from out in the sticks can possibly be qualified to crash OUR game.
It would not have mattered who was #2 on the McCain ticket, McCain was the mistake. How he ever got the nomination is beyond me. I voted for him but had to hold my nose to do it.
Well, on the “fiscal” side of conservatism, the Bush-Cheney years hardly represents an exemplary record (isn’t there some quote of Cheney’s dismissing the importance of deficits or the national debt?), and on the “social” side of conservatism... supporting homo-marriage?? Lost a LOT of respect for him especially over this latter stance.
Added to all this, he epitomizes the kind of ruling-class GOP establishment, who looks down on both “outsiders” and “reformers” like Palin. Frankly, although I’ve held no real animus towards Cheney, I’m so damned sick of this kind of elitist, backstabbing condescention by the GOP-e towards both the Tea Party and especially Palin. It infuriates me beyond words, and has instilled in me a tremendous distrust and anger towards the very Party I’ve exclusively supported and voted for my entire voting life.
What do you expect from the Veep of a “compassionate” conservative?
