Romney's CEO style rankled Mass. lawmakers

BOSTON — What worked for Mitt Romney in the corporate boardroom didn't fly in the more raucous corridors of the Massachusetts Legislature.

Now the Republican candidate for president, Romney took over as governor in 2003 after a long, successful career as CEO at the private equity firm Bain Capital.

But his top-down, corporate management style soon rankled Democrats who overwhelmingly controlled the state House and Senate and saw themselves as an equal partner in the government. His approach jolted a clubby political culture where schmoozing over after-hours drinks and cutting backroom deals are well-worn pathways to success.

My thoughts exactly. If he pissed off the Massachusetts political ruling class, he did something right.

I've heard the corridors of the Massachusetts Legislature described with many adjectives: "slimey" "filthy" "depraved" "amoral" "crooked as a corkscrew"

But "raucous" is a new one on me.

Just an FYI for those unfamiliar with Gay State politics:the last three Speakers of the Massachusetts House (all Rats) have been convicted of felonies in *Federal* court.

Just out of curiosity, is not “CEO” an acronym for “Chief Executive Officer”, that is, the primary, number one person holding office in an executive capacity?

i.e. President of a company, perhaps Governor of a state? Hmmmm?

Do any of these Massachusetts Democrats complain about 0bama’s Executive orders left & right, Czar appointments, etc.

“chirp, chirp, chirp”

Not only that but one of the “authors”, Andrew Miga used to write hit pieces for the Boston Herald and finally moved on to become what he truly is at heart,
A DEM Operative.
Color me shocked, not.

If Mass lawmakers don’t like it, it has to be great.

Always worth mentioning, thanks.
