Supporters of Chick-fil-A are eating at restaurants in the chicken chain Wednesday as the company continues to be criticized for an executive's comments about gay marriage.
Long lines were reported at Chick-fil-A restaurants at malls in Peabody and Burlington.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Baptist minister, declared Wednesday national "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day."
Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press last month that the Atlanta-based company was "guilty as charged" for backing "the biblical definition of a family." That unleashed a torrent of criticism from gay rights groups and others, who have called for boycotts and efforts to block the chain from opening new stores.

That unleashed a torrent of criticism from gay rights groups and others, who have called for boycotts and efforts to block the chain from opening new stores. But when the Muslim president opposed gay marriage they did nothing.

Didn't Taxachusetts have homosexual "marriage" imposed on them by the court & legislature rather than having a chance to vote on it?
True. If memory serves, not one single referendum put before voters in any state in this country ended up in favor of homosexual marriage. The states that allow it do so only because it was imposed by tyrants in black robes.
I didn't even know there were "Chick-Fil-A"s in Massachusetts! I am very glad to see this thread and that there is still support for freedom of speech in this state. Take that, Mayor Mumbles Mushmouth Menino!

As I said to another poster, Menino has backed off. Someone with a little more brains than him told him his position was unsupportable in the extreme.
