On Fox News On The Record, Sarah Palin responded to Dick Cheney saying in an interview earlier this week that she should not have been chosen as John McCains running mate in 2008. Palin said that Cheney made a rare misfire, and suspected that he had bought into the lamestream media spin on the election.
Greta Van Susteren noted that Liz Cheney made it clear that she disagrees with her father on Palin, before asking the former Alaska governor what she thought of Cheneys comments. Palin admitted she was not happy with the former vice presidents thoughts on her qualifications.
Well, seeing as how Dick excuse me, Vice President Cheney never misfires, then evidently hes quite convinced that what he had evidently read about me by the lamestream media, having been written, what I believe is a false narrative over the last four years, evidently Dick Cheney believed that stuff and thats a shame. So he characterized me as being a mistake.
Palin said that she felt honored to accept the nomination to be McCains running mate, and that the true mistake would have been if she had decided to hunker down, stay in Alaska, and serve out the rest of her term as governor.
Van Susteren noted that Cheney wrote in his memoir that Condoleezza Rice cried on more than one occasion, wondering why he would want to say things like that to prominent women like her and Palin. Palin said that Cheney just misfired, just as she believed the GOP establishment misfired when other Republicans made similar statements about her 2008 candidacy.

"The test to get on that small list has to be, 'Is this person capable of being president of the United States?'It was a very carefully explained opinion and the mildest of criticisms. If Palin got angry over that comment, then she has no business being near the White House--she'd be too thin skinned to be granted that much power . . . but then, it appears that she wasn't terribly offended by what he said, she just chose to respond in kind--mildly and with good humor.
I like Gov. Palin. I've met her. I know her. She - attractive candidate. But based on her background, she'd only been governor for, what, two years. I don't think she passed that test ... of being ready to take over. And I think that was a mistake."
Ouch that is gonna leave a mark, subtle but I think it was intentional. She does know how to use the language......
Very true. That's part of the total irrationality of the liberal mindset.
If conservatives show anger, they're angry. If conservatives don't show anger, they're angry.
Why?
Because liberals are ALWAYS angry, they think everyone else is, too!
I think Mr. Cheny is running true to form. He’s a Washington Insider, has been since Nixon. The male Republicans in dc do not want a woman as vp or President. Period.
The difference is: Quale shriveled up, Sarah has just gotten stronger and stronger. GOPee had better get with her program. The win in Texas has just cemented her strength. WMR now needs to come to her for support. His VP choice should be with her blessing if he is serious about winning.
Oh please...
A local tea party that meets in a diner threw this together in a matter of 2 weeks, many volunteers worked their *$$es off to make it happen for days, and it was UnG_dly hot when she arrived, something like 97 degrees in the sun and some Seniors I know who love her said no-mas, ain't gonna sit in the sun for hours to see her, and I don't blame them.
Was I their, no it killed me not to in some ways, I had family matters HUNDREDS of miles away to attend too.
Were some of my best buds their as said volunteers you bet.
And it was way more than hundreds, my gnomes estimates are 1500 to 4000 way more than the lame streams will tell you and I have the photos and I really should count to get an accurate number...
..I have that Freepathon picture stuck in my head. The one that says 2012 -
It’s not just an election - It’s a restraining order.
______________________________
Love that restraining order one!
Sadly the GOP-e House and Senate leadership grossly misjudged the mood of the people manifest in the 2010 elections. Their mandate was to restrain the dems, to act as a last ditch effort blocking force. Boehner and McConnell, weak corrupt men without honor or a sense of duty, have failed miserably. Unless the House class of 2010 stand up on their hind legs, the 2012 lame duck house will re-appoint Weeping John.
No one yet has explained how that “hold their feer to the fire” is going to work with Romney when it hasn’t even been trid against these good old boy GOP-e relics.
AMEN!
Glen Beck last weekend held a rally in Texas and 65,000 people were in attendance.
Even the far Left said that there were 400 to 500 attending the Patriots in the Park rally in Belleville, Michigan on July 14th, to which Gov. Palin spoke. Are you channeling David Frum today or just misfiring?
The thought that Romney's the guy who lost to the guy who lost to Obama doesn't comfort ME much, either. Although, to his credit, Romney has at least recently been acting like he's attempting to grow a pair.
------
The fact that Cheny wants to declare Palin 'not ready' grates me too. Not ready for what? Fitting into the GOP-e mold?
That's WHY the people like her!!
-----
We are going to have to keep smacking the Establishment Republicans like Romney, Cheney and Dewherst HARD. At least until they get the fact they are not the solution, but a BIG part of the problem!
That is why we have to, and I mean HAVE TO, turn the heat up so high they feel the fire. We can do this. Time to burn that playhouse down.
I trust Sarah with a loaded shot gun. Dick not so much.
Welcome to Free Republic.....maybe.
Only flaw was...
Keep the fight up ladies. Love ya!
No Sarah, Dick is part of the GOP elite that hated you from the first day you were picked as VP.
geez - what is wrong with you - women are “angry” while men are bold. ..at least if you are republican woman vs a democrat man. LOL
Did Cheney get his replaced heart transplant from a radical leftist? Seems to be affecting his brain too.
They had to destroy her. When she came out to give that acceptance speech in ‘08, it was clear we had a media mega-star. I’ll never forget the black look on Newt’s face while he watched her burn down the house. She was a woman, a sexy, beautiful woman who had plenty of moxie, ambition and great speaking skills. She shocked the good old boys of both parties. And they went after her with a vengeance.
I would like to remind “Dick” Cheney that all the “experience” he, Rove and Bush brought to the table left
his administration at one of the lowest approval ratings in
American History and gave us Obama.
That “experience” thing you talk about did not work out very good, did it Dick!
