On Fox News On The Record, Sarah Palin responded to Dick Cheney saying in an interview earlier this week that she should not have been chosen as John McCains running mate in 2008. Palin said that Cheney made a rare misfire, and suspected that he had bought into the lamestream media spin on the election.
Greta Van Susteren noted that Liz Cheney made it clear that she disagrees with her father on Palin, before asking the former Alaska governor what she thought of Cheneys comments. Palin admitted she was not happy with the former vice presidents thoughts on her qualifications.
Well, seeing as how Dick excuse me, Vice President Cheney never misfires, then evidently hes quite convinced that what he had evidently read about me by the lamestream media, having been written, what I believe is a false narrative over the last four years, evidently Dick Cheney believed that stuff and thats a shame. So he characterized me as being a mistake.
Palin said that she felt honored to accept the nomination to be McCains running mate, and that the true mistake would have been if she had decided to hunker down, stay in Alaska, and serve out the rest of her term as governor.
Van Susteren noted that Cheney wrote in his memoir that Condoleezza Rice cried on more than one occasion, wondering why he would want to say things like that to prominent women like her and Palin. Palin said that Cheney just misfired, just as she believed the GOP establishment misfired when other Republicans made similar statements about her 2008 candidacy.

I agree. Both were unfairly treated and both would have a long way to go to reestablish their names on the mind of the general public.
They damaged her temporarily but she is healing and she will conquer. She defends herself... Dan never did... he just quietly slipped back into private life... he is a good man.
LLS
I would like to see the two of them debate.
DANG, you are eloquent this morning.
I copied the following from the comments on another site, because it frames my thoughts exact -
“Dear Citizen Cheney,
We thank you for your patriotic guardianship during the Bush years.
However, the big mistake that you should address is the existing RNC that has permanently clouded our nations path to conservative constitutionality.”
Thank you Lord, for guiding and strengthening us in this battle.

No, no, you've got it wrong.
Angry = A conservative with an opinion.
Hate = A conservative disagreeing with something.
While I have the utmost respect for Dick Cheney,I MUST question his judgement on Sarah Palin! She is a TRUE CONSERVATIVE and a supporter of The US Constitution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He never said she wasn’t a true conservative or a supporter of the constitution. He said she wasn’t ready for the job.
And Dick Cheney....you would think he would realize that....I still love Dick Cheney but he’s just wrong about this. On another subject we need to get Liz Cheney in a contest soon!!!
Very well stated. I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment.
No one McCain picked could have saved him from himself. He was a milquetoast candidate who had two strikes against him already because of the widespread animosity (from all corners of the political spectrum) against GWB. Palin made the ticket somewhat palatable to conservatives, at least. And she was more qualified to be president than O - no doubt about that.
I give McCain credit for bucking the GOP seniority system by picking Palin. Because of that, the false charge that the GOP is "chauvinistic" has been pretty much debunked.
ALL white female TEA Party Conservatives are angry b!tches.

LOL!
Heartwarming to read that spirited response.
TEA Party - It’s NOT about dainty cups and cookies.
I don’t think we’ll ever see again the kind of crowds that Sarah Palin drew to her campaign appearances. People loved her; folks were motivated, excited, so relieved and pleased to “see” and “hear” someone/something different than what the gop-e had been pushing our way for years. She was so refreshing, so “real” ... indeed! As I said, I don’t think we’ll ever see again, the crowds that she drew on the republican/conservative side of the political spectrum.
You are right! I watched the entire interview. She was NOT angry.
I think you are right. She just came to Michigan and a scant two hundred people showed up.
Glen Beck last weekend held a rally in Texas and 65,000 people were in attendance.
I believe Sarah is a lot like Rush, he stated he is just being himself, decided not to be upset if someone don’t like him. Stay on track & don’t back down on his principals. That is one reason he won’t be likely to run for any political office. When Sarah makes a statement she sticks to it and it is evident in her actions. She lives the life she preaches.
Thing is, we are comfortable in our own skin...and to the lame stream, that connotes anger. Theirs...not ours. Further, I think we prefer men who are also comfortable in their own skin and don’t surround themselves with politically correct nonsense.
LOL! I like it!
Maybe we should come up with something to play off the female aspect of the Tea Party. It's not you mother's Sunday social ( or something like that )

Sorry...I have that Freepathon picture stuck in my head. The one that says 2012 - It's not just an election - It's a restraining order.
Now my mind is awhirl coming up with catchy political slogans.
(When I'm not being PO'd by the spewings of the idiot talking heads of the GOP-e, anyway.)
I expect that Romney’s campaign appearances will be about the same, a scant few hundred here and there, occasionally a thousand or two. However, I just don’t see him drawing mega-crowds like Palin did. I also don’t see him selecting a running mate who’s going to overshadow him, like she did McCain.
And you don’t think that is why Big Dick wants to undercut her?
Perhaps you’ve not actually followed his career...
