As if to remind us that outright discrimination aimed at Israel was not exceptional, but was rather part of the Olympic fabric, we learned several hours before the opening ceremonies that members of the Lebanese judo team were outraged that day because they had found themselves unable to practice--Israelis were sharing a mat with them! They complained immediately. Olympic officials put up a wall so that the Israelis would be hidden.

So far, however, the greatest success of the Arab effort to use the Olympics to remove Israel from the family of Man did not take place on a training mat or during an opening ceremony. It took place before the Games began.

On your search engine (I used Google), type ‘2012 Olympics Homepage’. On the toolbar above the day’s main Homepage picture-of-the-day, click on ‘countries’. Then, underneath that same toolbar, you’ll see a list of regions; click on ‘Asia.’ As of Tuesday, July 31, 2012, Israel’s flag is nowhere to be found. Israel is not on the list of participating countries. Palestine is.

According to the official Olympics Homepage, as far as I can see, Israel either does not exist or she has no athletes at the Games.

Perhaps that’s why the IOC couldn’t remember the 1972 massacre: you can’t commemorate what doesn’t exist.

The current modern Olympics are an Abomination.
The money has corrupted the whole process.
When we have come to the point and have professional athletes compteting instead of Amateurs the whole meaning of the Games is gone.
When we get to the point of having to spend something like $1 Billion or more on security, is it even worth it.
The entire Olympic Games, the Olympic Committees, etc. are absolutely corrupt and I will not be watching any of it.

I'm at the web page of the Israeli Olympic Committee, and it states that it is a member of the Association of National Olympic Committees and the European Olympic Committees. See here.

While this isn't as bad as not being mentioned at all, it's obvious that Israel is an Asian nation and is forced to affiliate with the European committees because otherwise the crybabies would boycott.

I don't know, I went to http://www.london2012.com and had no trouble finding Israel. Went to the NBC site and learned that Israel's capital is Jerusalem. Don't anyone tell the President. Palestine'scapital is -. Don't tell the President or Chris Matthews that. NBC is destroying the peace process.

I’ve seen a few seconds of the Olympics over the past few decades, mostly by accident. Quite frankly, the woman’s gymnastics events disgusted me so thoroughly that I didn’t look for long. Why not just call it hoochy-coochy dancing and have done.
