“We’ve also learned that the Department has an open bid for a stockpile of rifle ammo. Listed on the federal business opportunities network, they’re looking for up to 175 million rounds of .223 caliber ammo to be exact. The .223 is almost exactly the same round used by NATO forces, the 5.56 x 45mm.”

"The Department Of Homeland Security Is Buying 450 Million New Bullets" No, they are not. They are buying 450 million rounds of ammunition, which happens to incorporate shellcases, primers, powder and bullets. A "round" is known as a "cartridge". Multiple cartridges are known as "ammunition".

"Bullets" are those little thingies that are launched by a firearm and fly thru the air until they contact their target or the ground.

Bullets are to cartridges as cement is to concrete, as flour is to bread, etc. When will everyone learn?
