Accidental crime? You’ve been watching too much CNN and/or PBS...I don’t think so. My brother in Tacoma, who had registered pistols, shot a guy in Tacoma, WA for breaking into his house at 0230Hrs. Didn’t kill him, everything was legal but he was arrested for discharging a firearm within the city limits.

I do understand where you're both coming from.
But if we were ever fortunate to pass legislation as I suggested, I would hope we would also legislatively address the situations you brought up.
Of course I'm living in a make-believe world but we damned well better do something soon, cause these feral SOBs are only growing in number and there won't even be a "safe suburbs" to move to.
