Actually my mother came up with the Vichy french comparison.
The french resistance (Tea party) wanted to keep fighting while the Vichy French (RINOs) were willing to cuddle with the enemy as long as they got the illusion of power. The Vichy were nothing but puppets of the Nazis and even hunted the Resistance fighters for their Nazi masters.
History was not kind to the Vichy French and will be no kinder to the Vichy GOP.
