Yet another article designed to stir the pot and create discord among Republicans. The article starts with the premise that the “Tea Party Tilt” is a focus on social issues like abortion rather than fiscal issues. That is a flat out lie.

Second, the article finds a couple liberal Republicans who constantly bitch and moan about the “extreme fringe” of the Republican Party. They have drank the Dems Kool Aide in the sense that there is not one position that the Republicans are taking on abortion or fiscal matters that was not a mainstream position 15 years ago.

I suspect that there is no real problem here, other than two or three Republican liberal cranks who would complain about pretty much anything to get their names in the paper.

Opinionated BlowTrue - you are right on.

The “demands” of the tea party are modest and reasonable. Just stop killing the country with ruinous spending and boat anchor regulation.

Ya know, if these people had a working neuron in their head, they’d realize that “social issues” ARE fiscal issues. We’ve wiped out 50,000,000+ potential tax-payers who could be paying for the social programs to which Congress seems so attached.
We’ve tried to replace them with illegal aliens, but semi-literate, non-English speaking illegals and their spawn are net tax-consumers rather than net tax-payers.

As politicians with antiquated views get marginalized they begin talking about everybody else as being on the fringe.

Just a sign of irrelevancy.
