I don’t know that principles = ego. Pragmatism should never,IMHO, trump deeply held convictions.

I understand you. You are voting for the lesser of two severe evils, because you fear that voting for someone who represents your values will be a wasted vote. I don't think either candidate is good for America. So I'm voting for someone different.

If enough of us vote third party, then perhaps next election either the GOP will take us serious or our third party will continue to grow until the GOP is irrelevant.
