In 2004, as Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney banned the sale of assault weapons like the one used to spray 50-60 bullets a minute in the Colorado massacre.
On FOX News, Romney explained his position as follows:
"I believe the people should have the right to bear arms, but I dont believe that we have to have assault weapons as part of our personal arsenal."
That seems like a perfectly reasonable position, no?
(Seriously: Do we really need to be able to buy and own these things? Is that really in the best interests of our society? Really?)
Unfortunately, in the intervening years, Romney has flip-flopped and now supports the sale of assault weapons like the one used in the Colorado massacre.
But the families of those who were shot and killed in the theater can presumably take some comfort from the fact that Romney was against these guns before he was for them.

I am voting Obama OUT! Well deal with Mitt next.
No you won't, and neither will anyone else.
Pretend all you want or hope all you want, but once he is in, he's in from a GOP perspective.
Keep being the battered wife for the GOP-E, it's never get better.

Great speech; Mitt would undo a lot of the damage caused by the Mutt-in-Chief.
I have become a solid Mitt supporter. He is seriously starting to hammer away at the real issues.
Hell, he's got plenty of material...he could spend every day from now until November talking about the Mutt and never run out of material.
Mitt versus the Mutt...!!!

Romney does not hate my country. He was my 2nd to the last choice for the nomination, but Romney is night and day better than Obama.
The best way to save my country, at this point in history, is to defeat Obama by any means necessary under the law.
If that means a President Romney, so be it! And then -—
We protect ourselves from any Romney mistakes with a CONSERVATIVE HOUSE and a CONSERVATIVE SENATE!

Bashing Romney actually hurts our chances for a GOP takeover of the Senate.
No one's "Bashing Romney".
We are, however, being honest about who and what he is and his record that proves it.

Now for what will really happen:
All the GOP-E views will become the Republican platform. They will use your vote to prove that that is what grassroots Republicans want.
That’s what always happens, even when they lose the race.

Are you folks aware that Henry Blodget, the author of this piece, and founder of Business Insider, is a die-hard liberal Democrat and big Obama and DNC funder? He is also the same Henry Blodget who is BANNED FOR LIFE from the securities industry and paid a $2 million fine due to securities fraud relating to his public recommendations of dot-com stocks which he simultaneously trashed in private emails to top Merill Lynch clients - leading millions to invest in those stocks, losing billions when the bottom fell out of the stocks he pumped and (privately) dumped.
Blodget is a scumbag of the lowest order, and I hereby propose a BAN on at the very least his posts, and preferably the entire Business Insider faux site, which pimps liberal propaganda. Why help Blodget make money with our clicks?

Anyone that implements Socialized Medicine, Gay Marriage, an Assault Weapons Ban, raises taxes/fees by $700 million, nominates 27 out of 36 extreme Progressive Liberal judges, supports Abortion, Supports Global Warming by conservative definition HATES America.
Romney's record makes him out to be the lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal that he is.

I'm very well aware of Henry Blodget's extreme left-wing positions and behavior.
Read my post #2 above.
And I am sure that Mitt Romney boosters want everything and everyone banned that actually brings up the lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal record of Mitt Romney in any context whether left or right.

That buys into the fact we are done fighting. It's just begun.
The one thing I've learned about Mitt in 30 years of watching him is he will do anything to please the +1 majority. We need to make sure so long as he's there (if)that we push him in our direction and keep winning house and senate seat both local and national to write the legislation and gut this government to the core.
On another subject. Have you ever heard Rush say that Mitt told him personally he does not intend to go down as failing this country. Historically even with only one term he wants to gut the government at every level except military and where deemed constitutional.
To: SoConPubbie
It took the Progressives a century to bring us to this point, we are not going to undo what they have done to this country in a single generation.
We are going to have failures like Romney in this war to reclaim our country. We have to endure and try harder the next time to get a truly liberty loving candidate.
We have to bite the bullet and vote for this wishy washy moderate Republican because there is more at stake than just the Presidency.
We have the House to keep and the Senate to take. Doing those two things is much more difficult if our Presidential candidate does not have strong support.
I despise Romney as much as you do but I will support him for the sake of the long road ahead. I despised McCain and I worked for him because I see that this is but a small battle in a long war of ideas and ideals. We can not win the war if we are constantly at war with our selves.
