This year will go down in history. For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient and the world will follow our lead into the future. Adolf Hitler, 1935
When I shout at the TV its usually because of one of these three reasons:
1. Noticing that Bob Beckel has just dyed his hair a shade of ginger that Carrot Top would eschew. What shade is that, man? Clairols Rusted Barn Pipe especially blended for the sassy progressive?
2. Seeing Roseanne Barr on the tube braying her insanity, on any subject, will also get me throwing cigar ashtrays at my flat screen and howling like a Bluetick on a fresh coon track.
3. And lastly, always guaranteed to get a screech out of me, is when I happen to see Jan Crouch sitting on a gold TBN pagoda sporting a wig that makes her the envy of RuPaul.
However, this past week I was hollering at Bill OReilly. Normally, I respect and enjoy Bills take on pressing issues, but OMG was OReilly out in leftist field on the guns and ammo issue.
On Monday, July 23rds Talking Points, OReilly made some outrageous and erroneous statements about guns and gun purchases. They were so misleading that I was wondering if Michael Moore was moonlighting as a writer for The Factor.
Initially Bill got off to a good start stating, [Bill] Moyers has no clue, no clue at all. He apparently believes that federal and state governments can actually control gun crimes. Thats so dumb it hurts. But then he follows up this statement with some of the most uninformed Talking Points that I have witnessed on his show, and yes, I am a regular viewer. Check it out
OReilly: Anyone who sells a heavy weapon or ammo should be compelled to report the sale to the FBI. Its a felony if you dont. Thats what we should have in the U.S.A. and it just makes sense in this age of terrorism. Right now some gun dealers do background checks but nobody reports the sale of heavy weapons like AK-47s to the feds. Thats insane.
Bill, if you purchase an AK-47 today at a gun store, you will be required to fill out Federal Form 4473. On this form, you will answer a barrage of questions about your criminal history and citizenship. On page 2, section D, the form lists the type, model number, manufacturer, serial number, etc. of the firearm that is being purchased.
If a licensed gun dealer does not accurately complete this form, he would face penalties up to and including prison time. All dealers are required to complete this form for every firearm purchase. This form is a BATFE form, and if they do not talk to the FBI, then that is a problem between those agencies and not gun purchasers.
As it relates to purchases of ammo, the idea that one would report the hundreds of millions of rounds of ammunition sold yearly would take an army of federal employees to process the information. I would wager that they would catch as many criminals as the TSA has caught potential terrorists by groping Granny. However, they would be able to compile a great list of people like me who shoot regularly and buy their ammunition in bulk. That list would include my cowboy action shooting friends, trap and skeet shooters, prairie dog hunters, individual police officers, military personnel, gun collectors, reloaders and so on. Keeping lists of law-abiding citizens does not stop killers bent on bedlam.
Bills next ditty was so outrageous that it is near impossible to comment on without laughing. OReilly: Terrorists could just move in here, buy bazookas and the FBI doesnt know about it. Here is how crazy this is. If you take a flight lesson, the feds get a heads up. But you can buy a machine gun and they dont know.
Bazookas and machine guns are commonly referred to as class III weapons and/or destructive devices, which require a very special license to own. Yep, its a wee bit different than buying a Ruger 10/22. The Feds have been licensing machine guns since 1934. To own a machine gun, one must first live in a state where it is legal, and then complete a Federal licensing process that, as I understand, takes a few months. On top of the aforementioned, get ready to drop about ten grand because the manufacturing of new guns has been banned for years. To the best of my knowledge, only one legally owned machine gun has been used in a crime in the U.S. since 1934, and the owner was a member of the law enforcement community.
Another thing I was howling over was OReilly calling an AK-47 a heavy weapon. Heavy weapon? Uh not hardly. Granted, I wouldnt want any round from a .22LR up inside of my body, but the pipsqueak little 7.62x39 is hardly considered a heavy caliber by anyone who knows anything about guns.
Then to cap off Bills misinformation, the following night OReilly stepped in it again by wrongfully asserting that the Aurora jackwagon who shot up the theater ordered 60,000 rounds of ammo over the Internet. Bill screamed that several times 60,000 rounds! Wrong again. Holmes ordered 6,000 rounds, and not one ton of ammo.
Look, folks can try to ban semi-automatic weapons and limit ammo sales all day long, but criminals will always be able to get their paws on them. The only thing that would have stopped James Holmes would have been a bullet to his head by an armed citizen who, in this case, was unfortunately banned from entering the theater.
After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn't do it.

I just never saw it I guess. Thanks for the link.

After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn’t do it.
Great line, I’m going to keep it and use it regularly
I can’t understand how BOR has an audience of people who call themselves conservatives. He is an anti business, anti 2nd ammendment, self worshipping bloviator.
His constant bragging about his Harvard degrees is funny. He is as bright as ALgore another Harvard grad
I too like the news quizz...lots of good laughs, and I really enjoy Miller Time.
That’s easy. He’s the one with his arm around Ted Knight’s neck.
I love it that Rush calls him that. BOR hasn’t ever acknowleged the slur or he would be slaughtered in a confrontation with the conservative master spokesman
I don’t think libs realize how many guns there actually are in the U.S. Even if they somehow managed to confiscate every handgun and “assault” rifle, that would still leave many millions of hunting rifles and shotguns. Do the morons not believe that a crazed killer would simply purchase several shotguns, saw off the barrels to hide under a jacket, and slaughter a lot of people? In fact, Holmes did use a shotgun in his murderous attack. So now they’ve got to confiscate ALL!!! firearms. In which case (and it’s happened before) a crazed killer will simply buy some very long sharp knives, and kill a bunch of people. I guess we’d have to outlaw knives after something like that.
If there's any segment of Hannity's programs my wife and I hate worse than others, it's his habit of having a lib and a conservative shout at each other. We absolutely can't tolerate the shouting and screaming for more than 2 seconds. Hannity has to stop having these shout-fests or we simply won't watch him. And if he's going to have a lib on his program, let the lib deliver his or her talking points and then reply. I can't stand it when he talks over his guests...something he does constantly.
I think he is due for some serious ridicule on this subject, although his hyper-flated ego probably makes it impossible for him to learn from it.

Bill O’Really comes from a long line of Irish cops, teachers, firemen, and other government union slugs of all sorts.
While the general public does appreciate their service, we also recognize their limitations.
O’Really is simply a school marm with a national soapbox.
The Hitler citation is incorrect, a fabrication.
“In 1919 and 1920, to stabilize the country and in part to comply with the Treaty of Versailles, the German Weimar government passed very strict gun ownership restrictions. Article 169 of the Treaty of Versailles stated, “Within two months from the coming into force of the present Treaty, German arms, munitions, and war material, including anti-aircraft material, existing in Germany in excess of the quantities allowed, must be surrendered to the Governments of the Principal Allied and Associated Powers to be destroyed or rendered useless.”
In 1919, the German government passed the Regulations on Weapons Ownership, which declared that “all firearms, as well as all kinds of firearms ammunition, are to be surrendered immediately.” Under the regulations, anyone found in possession of a firearm or ammunition was subject to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 marks.
On August 7, 1920, the German government enacted a second gun-regulation law called the Law on the Disarmament of the People. It put into effect the provisions of the Versailles Treaty in regard to the limit on military-type weapons.
In 1928, the German government enacted the Law on Firearms and Ammunition. This law relaxed gun restrictions and put into effect a strict firearm licensing scheme. Under this scheme, Germans could possess firearms, but they were required to have separate permits to do the following: own or sell firearms, carry firearms (including handguns), manufacture firearms, and professionally deal in firearms and ammunition. This law explicitly revoked the 1919 Regulations on Weapons Ownership, which had banned all firearms possession.
Stephen Halbrook writes about the German gun restriction laws in the 1919-1928 period, “Within a decade, Germany had gone from a brutal firearms seizure policy which, in times of unrest, entailed selective yet immediate execution for mere possession of a firearm, to a modern, comprehensive gun control law.”
It was noted that the Weimar government was not generous in issuing gun permits to the public, so when the Nazis came into power they needed no new gun laws, they just continued the policy of rarely issuing gun permits. They only enacted their gun law of 1938 so that, under no circumstance would Jews be issued guns.”
Yup. He sure does!
What I find amazing is that when it is already a felony with penalties up to and including death to kill people for no reason we have a bunch of ninnies who think they are smart calling for a ban on just one tool that can be used to kill people. Apparently there were no murders before the invention of gunpowder.
He calls himself an independent and then wants to argue with Stossell?
Nope, BOR is just his own animal who will feed at any trough that feeds his ego until he gets a mouthful of gravel. Then hell find another.
So True. O’Gas bag played footsie with Obama during interviewing.
He let him rope a dope him, and use a smoother version of schuck and jive to
make it look like he is a nice guy.
Replace O Really with Michelle Malkin or Laura Ingrahm and we will have a great show.
Maybe Bill is tight with Bloomberg; another brain dead liberal???
