DEVELOPING: Maryland authorities have thwarted an alleged mass shooting plot and seized an "arsenal of weapons," Fox News has learned.
WJLA-TV reports that police foiled what they believe would have been a mass shooting by an Anne Arundel County man. The station, citing police sources, said the suspect was about to get fired from his job. He was arrested in Crofton, Md., Thursday night.
A source close to the investigation confirmed the report to Fox News, saying the "subject is emotionally disturbed." The man called up his workplace and threatened to shoot people, the source said.
When police took the man into custody, they found an "arsenal" of weapons inside his home.

" Investigators say a search of Prescott's home turned up more than 20 guns, including assault rifles and handguns, and more than 400 rounds of ammunition."
That's a good start, but doesn't reach the level of arsenal. More like a token 'group'. 400 rounds of one caliber doesn't last one afternoon at the range.
Expect lots more of this grandstanding, fear porn. They control our minds with pictures and words repeated often.
Yup.
Twenty firearms with twenty rounds apiece.
Sounds like a sampler set.
thanks.
I haven’t been online much in 5 months so I had time to think about it.

I caught that, too. I thought, amateur. That applies to both the writer and the gun-owner.
It’s a good thing they moved on the moron if he was making threats, but one man’s gun collection is an ambitious cop’s or dishonest politician’s “arsenal.” They know how to play the media dolts. Look for requests to increase funding, more body armor, more ARs, more sniper rifles, maybe a tank or two, more personnel, and of course gun control....
MSNBC is reporting he told authorities he’s the Joker.
Here we go again.
He called his workplace and threatened to shoot people, and the cops reacted accordingly. Why is that news?
I had an arsenal like that...until my front closet had a tragic boating accident.
Perhaps a stack of Guns & Ammo magazines in the basement.
Indiana is a great state for boating accidents, happens all the time here. I even own my own lake so if they doubt me they can drag the bottom to prove me wrong, so long as they bring up the limbs and old tires too...
He had half a dozen knives in his kitchen drawer.
Hmmmmmmm
Wasn’t Maryland being forced to relax their gun laws today???
“Shall Issue” becomes the law August 8th here, unless the gun grabbers file a motion to stop it. I was at a range in MD yesterday, and there are many opinions as to what might happen; many LEOs there at the time.
I don’t know about current MD law, but when I lived here 20 years ago someone knowledgeable told me that an accumulation of 400 rounds of ammo (all calibers taken together) was considered to be an arsenal by the State Police. I don’t know how many guns would constitute an arsenal, but I suspect it would be a low number (3 or 4, say).
Yeah, in Maryland an “arsenal” is defined to be any collection of firearms owned by a private individual that includes more than one single-shot .22 rifle.
Is he a member of the Tea Party?

Only the mass shootings that make the news are done by white guys. When some of Holder's people or wise latinos decide to go shoot up a neighborhood and kill seven year old girls and nearly a dozen others.....it's just 'nother day in the hood and not worth reporting.
When some goat raping muzzie does it, it's just work place violence.
Lo, how our media lapdogs were surprised when the DC snipers turned out to be [gasp] not white.
That's the reason crackers going rampage shooting makes the news.....it's man bites dog; ie out of the norm.
