Agree with most of your post but some of the most conservative areas of Texas bump up against the famous Austin City Limits. We are 60 miles north but share a representative with those folks...

I know! Williamson, Hays and Burnet County are all fairly conservative. But with the urban sprawl of Austin continuing those counties are starting be infested with more and more liberals. Poor Bastrop County use to be a great place to get away to the country. Now it might as well be called Travis County East. Both Bastrop and Elgin are now nothing more than bedroom cities of Austin.
