Omaha, Nebraska (CNN) -- An alleged victim of a hate crime in Nebraska spoke out for the first time Thursday, the same day that more than a thousand people rallied in support of the victim that police say was assaulted by masked men who carved homophobic slurs into her body.

LOL! Just bought a wd-40 yesterday because nothing else will do. Had to get a big can because they don’t sell the purse size anymore. And why can’t they make one with a floral scent? After I use that stuff I always smell so married.
Add: the fire the alleged perps allegedly set, using gasoline, caused $200 or less of damage.
This definitely smells like HOAX to me... When did this attack take place, and where are the scars?
You’re right, “lawyering up” is another very curious aspect And good point about looking for receipts and surveillance video. My guess is that the police already are convinced she did this herself and are simply gathering more incriminating evidence while also waiting for the hoopla to die down somewhat.
Ping and bookmarked
Thanks kindly. :-)
Sorry to hear that. But they didn’t spray paint or zip tie you. Glad you made it through though.
Homosexuals, being mentally ill, are unlikely to consider the inconsistencies in their “fake but accurate” street theater.
I would wager your guess is right on target , all the way.
The hoax will be dismissed as just a reaction to the “ongoing, pervasive ‘homophobia’” in society and normal people will, nevertheless, be condemned.

I still don’t believe any assailant would be able to “carve” a symbol with any level of legibility into an unwilling victim. There would be too much struggling involved to do this. It’s not a tattoo studio, after all.
I'm afraid this is another case where it's not like the movies...
What a terrible experience. I am glad you lived through it.
It never is.

Ha, you said it ; )
The one thing that makes me *really* mad about these events is that when *actual* attacks happen, they get ignored.
Happened to a girl at my college. Guy was stalking her back home, she figured that the problem would go away when she went to college.
Nope. Guy followed her up there. Made a pest of himself around the dorm for a few days, eventually broke into her room (fortunately no one was there). She called the campus cops and no one believed her. They sent someone to "investigate"....basically patted her on the head and told her not to worry her pretty little head about it.
Long story short, the girl's dad was from the old country, had a few friends, and called in a favor. Couple of toughs came up to campus the day after the break-in to "talk" to the stalker. He left, quickly, a few minutes later.
Sometimes, there is justice.
Excellent piece, thanks for the link. We need to have a national conversation now that includes both racist and gay hate crime hoaxes.
It smells like a hoax... police are getting better catching liberals at this kind of thing... The real question is how will CNN report it when it turns out her story is a lie?
