She used to be a smart girl. I recall one interview with her way back in her peak, and I was pretty amazed by how candid she was about the whole showbiz thing. She said she planned to push the limits for a few years, make a ton of money, and live happily thereafter.

It is still what she is doing and she is still making a ton of money.

I didnt like her back in the day, don’t like her now, but she is one hell of a successful self promoter. If that’s the basis for calling someone smart, she’s close to brilliant.

OK. I was the guy at the record store (yes the record store) who would ask the clerks why Madonna was listed as an artist, and why Kenny G records were in the jazz section.
