How “controversial” is this tradition, anyway? I am unaware of any difference of opinion on this point of U.S. flag etiquette. Who, exactly, finds this procedure “controversial,” and when did this “controversy” start, anyway?

Like everything else the left doesn’t like, not dipping the flag became controversial when they said so because the left has learned that Boobus America will agree that whatever follows controversial is bad.
