“Numbers still solid through 3 days of early voting
More than 11,000 people voted early on Wednesday, notching a third straight day of what Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart has said is a surprisingly strong turnout for the July 31 primary runoffs.
Overall, 32,676 people have now voted early in person, 27,311 of them Republicans and 5,365 of them Democrats.
Mail ballots also are coming in at a good clip: 22,849 were returned as of the close of business Wednesday (15,956 by Republicans and 6,893 by Democrats), with another roughly 17,00 mail ballots still outstanding.
