IIRC, I saw a news report of a 6-7 year old boy suspended for drawing a stick figure like that.
Yes, but there have been more than one events. Some were suspended for pointing fingers at each other and the thumb going down.
Stuff we did all the time as kids. Didn’t harm us one damn bit. Some of us had cap pistols for play. Didn’t make us go and find dad’s gun and shoot a bunch of people. Adults and parents weren’t freaked out about such play.
It is so nanny state freaking ridiculous. I really blame it on primary schools doing their best to get men (solid male role models) out of teaching, and administration, in those primary schools, particularly elementary schools. REAL MEN. Not homos and perverts. Feminization of schools are the reason why dodge ball is not played, kickball the way we played it (like baseball) is not played anymore, because it’s not fair some kids do better than others. They don’t do running races for time anymore. Nothing competitive at all. (The kids still know who’s better and who wins, regardless, they aren’t stupid and we weren’t then either.)
That’s what the female gym teacher in my old elementary school said when I stopped by mid afternoon a few years ago.
When I went there 32+ years ago all grades had a male gym teacher who was great, and we did dodge ball - loved those gym periods with dodge ball - and kickball, and some obstacle course stuff, and races - timed - and even as a runt (year ahead) who wasn’t great, evne then I could still hit people out or catch a ball, or deflect it if I was holding a ball already.
