I agree but they had better be sure they can win before they fight that battle. We need a rock solid victory on this front. Losing would set a bad precedent for our cause.

? This is hardly precedental. Back in the 1960s the entire building code in the United States (UBC and BOCA) was changed to require the use of exterior door locking mechanisms that could not be defeated by a simple chain.

That occurred after the explosion at the Indianapolis Coliseum that killed several dozen people when natural gas from a cannister used on a popcorn maker was released and then exploded under the stadium seats.

The problem in Aurora, and probably a whole huge bunch of theater exit doors is that there is NO ALARM system to report a door propped open. I"m pretty sure none of them can be defeatd with a simple chain, but this one may have been defeated with a small rock or a piece of tape!
