This is but one reason why the corrupt, left-wing-wacko-controlled EPA should be defunded and removed from the US Gov't - along with scores of other obstructionist agencies - for intentionally-destroying American Exceptionalism, Business, Capitalism and Entrepreneurship.

..it will be held up until every senator and congresscritter gets their “fair” share.

The EPA should be completely abolished and its functions turned over the states where they belong.

My goodness, what does it take to bribe a Congress these days?
Looks like Obunga has managed to populate the EPA with true zealots.

This is but one reason why those running the corrupt, left-wing-wacko-controlled EPA should be
defunded and removed from the US Gov't tried, convicted and hung - along with scores of other obstructionist agencies - for intentionally-destroying American Exceptionalism, Business, Capitalism and Entrepreneurship.
We used to call that treason.

Lots of “No Pebble Mine” people out here in Bristol Bay.
Pebble Mine could bring many jobs to the area but people are being brainwashed that it could kill the salmon runs.
I don’t see why compromise cannot be reached. Allow the Pebble Mine to happen and if the fishing is impacted, close it down. If the fishing is not impacted, then envirals lose credibility...again.

All (except 60-80 I can think of) corrupt, criminal congresscritters should be removed and “stood against a wall” to clean-out the filth/garbage/trash. The entire US Gov’t bureaucracy is so infiltrated w/ enviro-wackos and commies, it needs a thorough “cleansing”, too.

Our founders declared that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were inalienable rights. Yet here we are wearing ourselves out fighting the government for the freedoms that founded this country.

That’s PRECISELY WHY it’ll never happen.

There's a definite lack of vision in this project ~ and in everybody's response to it ~ whether EPA, local Alaskans, salmon lovers, wild bears, or people on this thread.
$500 billion is a huge amount of money. Somebody has a dammed waste area in mind ~ and EPA, etc. fear it may spill.
It wouldn't if it were built like a serious dam ~ with concrete and steel, and millions of tons of concrete shipped in at enormous cost from the lower 48 and China.
But what's a couple of billion bucks when you are talking about $500 billion?
I think a deal is possible.

Entrepreneurs will be able to create the dam and make it safer for the salmon and the bears. I suggest you send the article and your response to Romney’s PAC and give him some more ammo. I just wish he would go pro-life.

If this is to be a heap-leach operation, there is every reason to have the strictest controls.

I agree; safety is paramount. But the EPA won’t consider a deal. They’re 95% controlled by enviro-wackos who don’t want to be proven wrong that it can be done safely. If it can’t, then it shouldn’t be done until the technology catches-up to the economics of reality.

At the very least, that we know right now. Betcha it’s much more, in the final accounting.
