Don’t worry, they took the dog to a judge to testify under oath, and got a warrant.

A drug sniffing dog hitting on a scent of MJ is considered probable cause to conduct a search

They probably did search the illegal..

However, the dog “hitting” on the smell is enough to search with out a warrant.

That is why they train the dogs to “hit” on nothing so they can get around that pesky warrant thing.
