Yep. They hated her enough to cut her up and burn her house down, but not enough to rape her. Right. I could buy the first two - there are plenty of sickos out there - but without the 3rd, it doesn't make sense.

Fair point, but rape isn't about sexual attraction, it's about power and control.

The more I think about it, the more this story stinks. Sooner or later, the police will release a "Never Mind" statement, very quietly. Nothing will ever be done to those who perpetrated the hoax.

But all people will remember is that a bunch of haters (probably right-wing, and I bet that they voted for Bush) assaulted a poor defenseless lesbian.

And the meme gets furthered just a little bit more.....
