The leading candidates in Washington's tight gubernatorial race both issued statements opposing the Boy Scouts of America's recent decision to retain a policy prohibiting gay Scouts and leaders.
Democrat Jay Inslee and Republican Rob McKenna both chastised the organization for the announcement that their secret committee unanimously refused to change the discriminatory policy.

The onus is on them to prove otherwise. Remember, the Democrats lesson to us all is that it is the serious of the charge, not the quality of the evidence.
You would think that the Dem candidate would chastise the Boy Scouts, and the GOP candidate would applaud them. Pretty pathetic that they both chastised them.
Homosexuals practice a perversion of nature that is condemned in the Bible, the Torah, and even the koran.
Someone can claim or truly be conservative with money and most politics but when they try to say perversions are the same as skin colors they are fooling only themselves.
me or Rob ? Who ?
All this is beside the point. The Scouts have always depended on corporate America for its major funding. Now corporate America is joining the rest of the elite, which includes the Republican Establishment, in furthering the gay agenda.
In other words, it isn't enough to tolerate the gay "lifestyle"; we all have to live it. It has to be part of everything we do, everywhere we go. We can't have any part of our lives where we choose our beliefs.
Well, I for one don't accept this. I'll never love Gay Big Brother. So just get over it.
“They are standing alone against an enormous onslaught.”
Since losing millions due to their “homosexual problem”, the Catholic Church now officially bans homosexuals from the seminaries; the Boy Scouts are not alone.
All of my Boeing family want out of Queer-attle. Where I grew up is now a gang infested neighborhood thanks to de-segregation and the Democrat welfare state. Even the Island counties are turning to sh!t. I told people years ago when they start putting in low income housing projects and section 8 houses....RUN! Your neighbors who voted in all these wonderful Democrats who live in gated segregated communities have sold you down the toilet.
You are on the mark with the corporate cowardice. That’s why I say, replace that with money from the “little guy.”
Anyone, anyone at all can hold a fund raiser and give those bux to the BSA. I know a lot of bikers who have “adopted” scout troops.
We thought at first, the BSA would shun us. Bikers you know, riff raff, we’re not a savory sort.
But, what we found was an open door that caught us off guard. We didn’t raise much with a short run, but we were responsible for helping a troop get to their camporee. Most satisfying. And the boys and parents were most appreciative. Imagine that. BSA and bikers.
Reach out to a local troop. Ask them what they need. Help them get there.
NOT HARD.
As a practical matter, there is little to distinguish McKenna from Gregoire. Ignore what McKenna says and watch what he does.
Bring it!
I will not sit on my thumbs and do nothing.
The BSA may take some hits, but it will be up to the right minded Scouters, parents and families of Scouts to stand firm in the face of this onslaught on our freedom to associate with those we choose.
And many will.
The only ones who lose though are the boys, there will be no “winners” in this war.
If you let them in, figure on a whole bunch of Sanduskys 10 years from now. They are people doing something wrong!
Tools for Fools.
(Big Smile)
I think we are on the same page.
I disagree with your opinion that the boys will suffer. In my opinion, it makes them even stronger. I grew up watching John Wayne, Lone Ranger, Rifleman.
Standing up for what you believe, even if you get defeated, you still took up the challenge and did NOT compromise your principles.
Thermopolie, Alamo, Wake Island, Corrigador and on and on.
Small point, but I think the boys, win or lose, will be able to hold their heads high. Win or lose, they DID NOT COMPROMISE.
And that means everything.
Yeah, unfortunate that it cost the Church so much to learn that hard lesson.
There was a reason that the CIA and other intelligence agencies banned queers for the longest time.
The State of Washington is notoriously liberal, gay and atheist. A state of despair and perdition.
I guess you missed my point which, very possibly, was badly made....I was pointing out the outrage that was directed at the Catholic Church and Penn State for *not* preventing child abuse and yet the Boy Scouts are slammed for trying to do exactly that.
Yes there will be winners.
The boys who will not fall victim to the pedophiles!
Oh Geez, my bad.
But hey, a little help here!
/>s changes the whole attitude of the post!
Sorry if I crossed you up. Really.
Being a Washingtonian, I was disappointed to learn this about McKenna, but I figure he’s in the same boat as Romney was in Mass. You’re a Republican running for guv in a heavily liberal state and if you expect any chance of winning, you have to say things that you may not really believe. That’s just the way it is.
