I didn’t see any provocation. Everything was fine until the people being interviewed heard they were supposedly on an Israeli TV show and then they simply freaked out and became extremely violent.

Yes, but did you see how the show ended? With the woman saying something like "Who knew there were so many patriotic egyptians!" it punked them into getting violent, but because it was against the Jews, their reactions were considered reasonable.
