What purpose does an AR-15 serve to a sportsman that a more standard hunting rifle does not serve? Let’s see – does it fire more rounds without reload? Yes. Does it fire farther and more accurately? Yes. Does it accommodate a more lethal payload? Yes. So basically, the purpose of an assault style weapon is to kill more stuff, more fully, faster and from further away. To achieve maximum lethality....

Not one correct assertion.

Ugh! Where do you start? I mean Jason Alexander is completely ignorant as to firearms and the Constitution’s 2nd Ammendment. Can’t even parse the English language correctly.

Correct, not one right assertion. An AR15 is a low powered weapon, does not hold more rounds than any other magazine fed rifle has half the range and stopping power of a classic 30-06.

We don't need to justify constitutional rights.

Most especially not to poorly informed, half crazy, hypocritical left wingers.

And Not All Of Them Work For The Government

As usual a hollywood whatever talking out his ass.
Mr Alexander please read the United States Constitution. You know the law of the land. Nowhere in the 2nd Amendment does it address hunting or sport shooting. Remember these people had just fought a war with their Government. The 2nd Amendment was put in place to insure the citizens would always have the means to protect the 1st Amendment.
If you are ignorant on the subject then it is probably better to keep you mouth shut..........

To: MileHi

I have an AR-15 and I have not hunted with it except to kill coyotes out on my farm that have been killing calves and chickens. What I enjoy about the rifle is going to the rifle range and hitting my target at 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 yards. Now I grant that I had this rifle built to very small tolerances, specifically for the accuracy. It is the joy of shooting that I bought that particular rifle. I have spoken to my gunsmith about building a 338 mag for long range shooting and hunting. I have seen his rifle hit a 2 inch target at 1200 yards. When he told me his rifle would do that consistently, I did not believe. I saw the rifle being used and it was true. These are amazing firearms, and very fun to shoot. This is one pursuit of happiness.
