We lived near Mt. Diablo in Concord, CA, and the mountain is just infested with tarantulas.
During mating season, people are still allowed to drive up to the observation station at the top, but the speed limit is lowered, and there are all sorts of signs saying to watch out for the spiders.
For the most part, everyone is careful of them, and it is delightful to see so many of them.
One at a time is plenty for me! LOL
