Gee, the things you forget. Well, they may be SPC now, instead of SP4, but I will always think of them as the lilies of the field, leading the Privates astray, making life hard for their squad leader, and getting snarled at by their company shirt, unless they really foul up and piss off the CSM.
One I knew of made it into the SP4 record books by getting snockered at a beer fest and hitting on the Battalion Commander’s wife. That, by itself, was bad enough, but when she returned home to her husband, reading the paper, she said:
“Honey. One of your soldiers hit on me at the beer fest.”
“Hrrrmph (or words to that effect)”, he replied.
“He said he loved me, and wanted me to go back to the barracks with him,” she said.
After pausing for a moment, he said something he really shouldn’t have, and soon regretted.
“Well, did you?”
Monday morning he was in a foul mood.
After pausing for a moment, he said something he really shouldnt have, and soon regretted.
Well, did she?
