Certainly he comes from a long line of "Americans" who thought themselves above serving in the American military. Zero American veterans in Romney's pedigree -- and on to his own military-age sons. All Romneys, for at least three generations, have been much too important to serve in any common military capacity -- it's beneath them.
How obvious does it have to get that voting for this guy, no matter the reason, would be a big mistake?

Obama is WEAK. Lots of former supporters will desert him at the ballot box in 2012 (a lot will be perfectly comfortable voting for pro-global warming, pro-state-run health care, pro-gay agenda Romney -- their idea of the perfect Republican!), and as much as the MSM (and the GOP-e) try to hide, it's still happening. The odds of Obama getting a majority of the vote are slim to zero.
Wake up, folks. It's a charade.
Under the circumstances, there's only ONE way to vote, and that's to make sure whichever bastard wins, gets in on the smallest plurality possible. Lack of mandate had serious consequences for Clinton in '92 (Republician Revolution two years later) and in '96 (impeachment).
Listen to your gut. Heed your nose. Both are wise guides, and they've been telling you since 2007 that Romney is a bad apple, a rotten corpse. Vote third party. You'll forfeit any say in whether it's Obama or Romney who wins because the third party vote favors neither one (though math-challenged emoters will try to bully you into the fallacy that it does), but your vote WILL count toward reducing the popular mandate of whichever bastard wins.
Romney stinks for a reason: He's rotten to the core. Voting for him is guaranteed to be a mistake.
