A shocking and disturbing video taken by an undercover investigator at a pig farm depicts the horrific extent of animal cruelty being practiced at a pork-supply company used by Walmart.
Mercy For Animals released the graphic video which documents the daily animal abuse allegedly taking place at Christensen Farms in Minnesota. The video depicts hundreds of pigs packed into cages so tiny, they can barely move or even turn around. Some of the usually-social animals bite down on the bars just for something to do.

I agree. Some in PETA and the like are well-intended, ignorant nut jobs—and their goals are inane.
But there are also excesses and abuses that conservatives should be against, not idiotically beating their chests in meanness over as some misguided form of toughness.

Thank you. You expressed it better then I could. We do seem to have some callous people here. I suspect they would be as callous toward the abused disabled.
Makes me think they might be more at home at KOS.

That cult would never die till the stars came right again, and the secret priests would take great Cthulhu from His tomb to revive His subjects and resume His rule of earth. The time would be easy to know, for then mankind would have become as the Great Old Ones; free and wild and beyond good and evil, with laws and morals thrown aside and all men shouting and killing and revelling in joy. Then the liberated Old Ones would teach them new ways to shout and kill and revel and enjoy themselves, and all the earth would flame with a holocaust of ecstasy and freedom.

You could not be more wrong about me. I am a HUGE animal lover, but I don’t let myself get hooked in by PETA videos designed with an agenda in mind.
I wasn’t able to get the pig video but I chose not to watch the elephant video. If you were truly raised on a farm then you know animals raised for food are not treated the way I treat the 2 dogs who sleep in my bed and the other 2 who sleep under my bed.

Hep, raise your own meat to know what you’re eating...pretty much a ‘given’.

Yep, they are nasty little critters - never had much use for them. I grew up around hunting and slaughtering animals for food, and would happily shoot a pig that attacked me in the wild, given the opportunity. But, we are still stewards and pig behavior isn’t something I want to emulate.

LOL the stupidly of some people still amaze me.....thats the only reason chickens have butts....they cannot pee, they pee and poo at the same time, that's why a coop has a strong ammonia smell. We all only get 2 tussie holes...one of the chickens is for eggs......

LOL the stupidly of some people still amaze me.....People really ARE that disconnected from their food supply.

My father was farm raised at the turn of the 20th century...he always said if your drunk stay away for the pig sty or your dead before sunrise.... Farmers know life city folk don't want to know where their food comes from. Its not hatched in Styrofoam plates. They get rid of anything that could cause an outbreak of disease, nothing lays dead for days if its for human consumption...
The old man that use to butcher our chickens said one day he got a call from someone that had 25 chickens to butcher..he told him he could drop them off the night before as he started at 5 in the morning...he went outside and the idiot with the chickens had put live chickens in plastic bags...needless to say they were dead when he got up...the guy was mad cause he wouldn't process his birds....no one process's an already dead animal, they don't know what killed it....probably a new city farmer. Our chicken went into chicken crates and stayed alive....

most of us know your jesting...an animal that dies in pain taste like crap. The hormones they release taint the taste of the food, just like getting old boar meat in the store...My dad was farm raised and could even tell the different in taste between a neutered pig and a female pig is estrus. Friends raised Angus, one got caught in the electric wire and the didn't fine it until the next day. They butchered it themselves and ended up throwing out all the meat. Pain caused the meat to have a tainted taste. She said she had good beef inthe freezer and wasn't going to eat the one that died of electrocution over a period of hours...... Severe stressed animals taste different. Farmers don't put stress on their animals on purpose...Corporate farmers I don't know much about. But don't give farmers a bad name unless you want to raise and kill your own meat...

*****We have feral hogs on our place in Texas, yes they are awful, destructive animals. Sometimes they eat their young.**
When you read the news sometimes you think some mothers should have done that to the scum they raise..(just joking to all that think I really think that)

Your right, I think being disconnected as to how we get our food is a big part. Bambi is so cute, but my daughter just 2 weeks ago had a situation out jogging. Her dog was with her and she was jogging down her driveway, 1/3 mile to the road through a hardwood forest....The dog was running ahead of her and she her the dog yelp and she came running back to my daughter (around the bend) hot on the dogs heels and still trying to get her hoofs on the dogs back was a doe..when she way ahead my daughter she didn't stop and she was terrified that that dam doe was going to kill her..Finally stopped about 20 feet from my daughter, still huffing, her yelling at first had no effect on the doe....it was a stand off with her dog hiding behind her. (standard poodle). Finally the doe turned around and walked back down the drive way....She carrys a big stick with her now, but they found out driving out a while later that the doe had just dropped a fawn right next to the driveway thats a dirt driveway...They noticed a couple of days later the mom had moved her baby, but still was only about 15 feet off the road....Bambi's mom will kill you if she could....LOL now but not funny for my daughter...
They have so many deer, they come up on the patio and look in the kitchen door. Have to use repellent to keep their landscape intact....my grandson got his first deer with a bow and arrow last year at 16. Not her son, her brothers son....(have 13 grandchildren). The whole family hunts both gun and bow and arrow.

...still trying to get her hoofs on the dogs back was a doe..when she way ahead my daughter she didn't stop and she was terrified that that dam doe was going to kill her..Deer are dangerous. Bambi is a cartoon - but so many people have zero experience with prey animals and all they have to go by is Bambi.
