The debate on this will be interesting because I think Colorado is one of a few states that have banned private sales without background check; or to put it in the words of liberals, Colorado has already “closed the loophole”.

Actually, this is a mixed bag in Colorado. The knee jerk reaction following Columbine created a rule requiring an NICS check for all sales at gun shows. There is no such restriction on simple private party gun transfers. The only restriction is that the seller has no knowledge that the purchaser is ineligible to purchase that firearm. This does not require a check or a record.
