The Cathy family own Chick Fil A and they are devout Christians and live their faith. Their restaurants are closed on Sundays, they believe in the Gospel and aren't ashamed of it. They don't club anyone over the head or advocate killing non believers but if asked they will always defend Christ and his church. When your faith is that solid you can't, and shouldn't, seperate it from the rest of your life. It's not a one day a week thing.
I remember during the Clinton impeachment that Mr. Cathy said that he wouldn't hire a man who'd cheated on his wife to run one of his restaurants because how could he ever trust a guy who can't be trusted by his own wife. I admire that.
I love that they are christians and have morals....My biggest problem is that I seem to always go to the mall on Sunday and have a taste for Chick Fil A and they are closed...lol. So last night I made a point of eating there. They have the best food in town. I also go to Starbucks because I love their frappicinos. I imagine they probably believe in something that I don’t. We cannot just go to places that 100 percent believe what we believe because quite frankly we would have VERY little options.
Mr. Cathy was my kids’ Sunday School teacher. Yes, this gazillionaire is STILL a Sunday School teacher at the Baptist church in the small town I used to live in. Well, he was when I lived there, not positive anymore. But this was only about 8 years ago.
Now THAT is a really, really good observation. 'Tis one to file away, I think.
