Doubt it’s “American Indian” bc that term is way out of fashion. Now, they’re called “Native American.”
I often hear the obtuse: “Native American Indian.”
But the report is from a British source. In the UK, an Indian (from India) would probably be called an “Asian”.
They have very few American Indians in the UK, so they don’t have to worry about offending them, but they have boatloads of Muslims, and when you offend Muslims, people die.
